The Virtual Citizen Science Expo (VCSE) was designed as a virtual library program for rural and small libraries. In the month of April, Backyard Explorers visited our virtual reality expo hall in Mozilla Hubs to meet with real scientists, ask questions, and learn about volunteer projects.
April is Citizen Science Month! Citizen scientists are everyday people who volunteer to help scientists collect information and solve real world problems. The purpose of the Virtual Citizen Science Expo (VCSE) is to get youth and families outside and engaged in backyard science.
The Virtual Citizen Science Expo (VCSE) was hosted in April (2021/2022/2023) in collaboration with the Southeast Oklahoma Library System (SEOLS). The goal of the VCSE is to celebrate Citizen Science Month and share many opportunities to participate in citizen science with kids, families and youth educators. Meet real scientists in a virtual world. Visitors joined us online in April to learn how to volunteer to help scientists solve real world problems, including online exhibits and live presentations from citizen science programs. |
